Award Recipients 2007
Every year, Metro recognizes employees from all across the company who have exemplified one or more of the three traits that we believe to be fundamental to the functioning of a high-performing team – Mastery, Chemistry and Ingenuity. This provides us with the opportunity to formally thank our employees for their efforts and allows us to reinforce the behavior that we, as a company, value.

Metro News is proud to recognize the following 2007 Award Recipients:
For Mastery: Shantal Hingoo

The winner of this category has only been with the company for less than a year and has already demonstrated the drive to improve herself and her department. With key words such as “planning skill”, “dedication” and “diligence” in her nomination, it was easy for the committee to choose her as the recipient of this award.
For Chemistry: Gino Iantorno

We were impressed by the number of submissions in praise of this person. He has received nominations from both within the company and outside of it. This candidate’s nominations show us that he “creates [a] friendly and comfortable atmosphere”, “goes out of his way to make sure everything is going smoothly at [his] stores” and “[goes] that extra mile.”
For Ingenuity: Shannah Taylor

The recipient of this award has consistently proven that she “understands the value of positive change.” Shannah is “always thinking of new ways to improve her performance and enhance the productivity of her job”. Shannah “sparked a great C4 idea – to make our company website more interactive and user-friendly.” The committee was impressed by the fact that Shannah’s ingenuity has made many people’s jobs easier.

Award Recipients 2006
Every year, Metro recognizes employees from all across the company who have exemplified one or more of the three traits that we believe to be fundamental to the functioning of a high-performing team – Mastery, Chemistry and Ingenuity. This provides us with the opportunity to formally thank our employees for their efforts and allows us to reinforce the behavior that we, as a company, value.

Metro News is proud to recognize the following 2006 Award Recipients:
For MASTERY: Tony Onisko

Tony was immediately identified as a strong candidate for the Mastery award due to the number of nominations submitted on his behalf. Upon reviewing each nomination, the following phrases further punctuate his excellence: “Tony is a very dedicated individual that takes pride in the services he provides for us.”, “Tony is truly a man of excellence in his work… and very deserving of every kudo possible.”
For CHEMISTRY: Dave Facini

Dave’s nominations clearly demonstrate that he is: “a true people person… it takes a lot of work, commitment and dedication to build those types of relationships”, “we really respect him and you couldn’t ask for a better representative for your company”.
For INGENUITY: Lynn Dzebo

Lynn’s numerous nominations were from multiple sources but all stressed the same point ~ in addition to creating invoicing systems to meet our ever-changing needs as a growing company, she continues to do so with creativity and innovation within a tight timeline. She is “driven toward positive change”, “often suggesting conversions to automated processes to replace antiquated manual ones” and “defining/refining departmental requests to come up with improvements that are efficient and effective”.
