For Mastery: Valerie Walmsley
Mastery is a dedication to excellence in everything we do and is a relentless drive to become true experts in our field. It is a commitment to personal and professional growth with an understanding that constant improvement is a vital key to reaching true mastery. The winner of this category has been a key player in the distribution of our product throughout the numerous important chains such as Wal-Mart and Costco. It doesn’t seem to matter what is presented to her, she makes sure that the product is in the right place at the right time to maximize our sales. This individual has shown true Mastery by maintaining excellent working arrangements with our suppliers and with our sales team. As a result of her continued dedication, attention to detail and commitment to serve our customers in a quick and professional manner she been praised by both our customers and clients. |

For Chemistry: Naila Ramdewar
Chemistry is an understanding of the different personalities and empathy towards other’s needs. It is about building strong win/win relationships upon a foundation of respect with truth-telling, promise-keeping, and sincere interest. The winner in this category does a tremendous job of aiding the sales team, customers and co-workers. She ensures that the any job she undertakes is completed to her very high standards. Even with the daily obligations of maintaining top service amongst several business affiliated companies she gives her full commitment to finding simple solutions in resolving their concerns. She is truly an outstanding person. |

For Ingenuity: Nazario Detabali
Ingenuity is a deep understanding of the value of positive change and reaching for the stars. It is an unyielding drive towards contributing ideas that have a significant and positive impact on the work that we do. This particular individual spearheaded a project that had a number of obstacles that were faced as this project proceeded but worked thorough solutions with ingenuity, drive and determination. To complete this project he worked additional hours to ensure the information was accurate and on time. He did this all while continuing to perform his regular duties. He is truly a positive forward thinking person. |

The winner of this category has been a key player in the successful execution of one of our major projects in 2008. This individual has shown true Mastery by maintaining good inventory, invoicing, executing different marketing methods and increasing product recognition in the market which has led to an increase of overall sales. As a result of her continued dedication, attention to detail and commitment to serve our customers in a quick and professional manner she been praised by both our customers and clients. The winner of the 2008 Mastery Award Leslee Galati. |

For Chemistry: Ray Tsang
Chemistry is an understanding of the different personalities and empathy towards other’s needs. It is about building strong win/win relationships upon a foundation of respect with truth-telling, promise-keeping, and sincere interest. The victor in this category has a quiet persona that hasn’t gone unnoticed. He has displayed empathy to the business and others by sacrificing hours and many weekends to upgrade our systems. He’s proven his devotion, commitment and respect to us and now it’s time to give him our respect. The person responsible for making it all work for us is Ray Tsang, our 2008 Chemistry award winner. |

For Ingenuity: Teresa Wojtyra
Ingenuity is a deep understanding of the value of positive change and reaching for the stars. It is an unyielding drive towards contributing ideas that have a significant and positive impact on the work that we do. This particular individual took the extra step to provide an idea they felt would benefit us all. They set the example that if you contribute our ideas, you can leave a lasting impact for all to see. This person’s ideas have contributed in playing a key role to meet one of Metro’s main goals for 2009 and the years to come. Their changes have assisted and added ease to individual employee’s daily functions. The recipient of this award has consistently proven that she “understands the value of positive change.” The committee was impressed by the fact that this person’s ingenuity has made many people’s jobs easier. The 2008 Ingenuity Award is Teresa Wojtyra. |

The winner of this category has only been with the company for less than a year and has already demonstrated the drive to improve herself and her department. With key words such as “planning skill”, “dedication” and “diligence” in her nomination, it was easy for the committee to choose her as the recipient of this award. |

For Chemistry: Gino Iantorno
We were impressed by the number of submissions in praise of this person. He has received nominations from both within the company and outside of it. This candidate’s nominations show us that he “creates [a] friendly and comfortable atmosphere”, “goes out of his way to make sure everything is going smoothly at [his] stores” and “[goes] that extra mile.” |

For Ingenuity: Shannah Taylor
The recipient of this award has consistently proven that she “understands the value of positive change.” Shannah is “always thinking of new ways to improve her performance and enhance the productivity of her job”. Shannah “sparked a great C4 idea – to make our company website more interactive and user-friendly.” The committee was impressed by the fact that Shannah’s ingenuity has made many people’s jobs easier. |

Dave’s nominations clearly demonstrate that he is: “a true people person… it takes a lot of work, commitment and dedication to build those types of relationships”, “we really respect him and you couldn’t ask for a better representative for your company”. |

For INGENUITY: Lynn Dzebo
Lynn’s numerous nominations were from multiple sources but all stressed the same point ~ in addition to creating invoicing systems to meet our ever-changing needs as a growing company, she continues to do so with creativity and innovation within a tight timeline. She is “driven toward positive change”, “often suggesting conversions to automated processes to replace antiquated manual ones” and “defining/refining departmental requests to come up with improvements that are efficient and effective”. |
